Project Manager

Sideways is a creative agency specializing in hospitality and lifestyle branding, advertising technology and social media. We are looking for a highly motivated Project Manager to fill an immediate position. The ideal candidate is seasoned in all things digital from: eCommerce, CRM, Agile, Video, Photography, Social Media and non-digital such as Branding and Client Services. You are able to provide sound, strategic and innovative solutions to our clients. Our client’s satisfaction relies on your knowledge of their business, our ability to deliver solutions on time and on budget and their trust in us. You will be the subject matter expert and liaise between client teams and agency teams. The ideal candidate is comfortable with “not knowing everything” but is comfortable and enjoys the autonomy of organizing teams and resources to get clarity and delivery high quality work. The Project Manager leads decisions related to our project management toolset, processes, and standards. 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Act as primary resource to client for all services the agency is engaged in, serving as their trusted advisor, doer, organizer and facilitator 

  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change. 

  • Provide strategic planning to drive additional account growth opportunities 

  • Provide tactical support – timelines, budgets, updates, presentations 

  • Relationship management with third parties, conducting contract and terms review / negotiation 

  • Pursue knowledge to consistently bring new ideas and insight to the client - this can be in the form of continuing education, reading, speaking, travel, conferences, etc. 

  • As Project Manager, you will mentor additional more junior Project Managers on delivery level and provide guidance and support to them 

  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing budgets and scopes; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. 

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations 

  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests 

  • Coordinating with other discipline leads regarding all aspects of organizational process, company management and leadership 

  • Collaborating with internal teams with defining scope, managing client expectations, and ensuring projects stay on time and on budget 

  • Writing and curating documentation that facilitates all aspects of our operations 

  • On a daily basis, you will be engaged in one, many or all of the below: 

    • Manage clients of all levels, from C-suite to manager 

    • Proactively grow and shape relationships 

    • Enact understanding of branding, digital and services provided by the agency including: 

      • Brand positioning 

      • Identity design 

      • Website design and development 

      • Website integrations 

      • Social media strategy 

      • Paid media 

      • SEO / SEM & Display 

      • eCRM 

      • Branded content - video, photo & emerging 


  • 3+ years of professional project management experience in design and technology industries 

  • Minimum 2 years managing client relationships including participation in client meetings throughout the design and development process 

  • Knowledge of and experience working with design tools and systems, full stack code, QA best practices, Jira, ADA guidelines and GDPR 

  • Agile experience a plus 

  • Ability to confidently review and markup client, vendor and team documents 

  • Experience coordinating design and technology documentation with external consultants 

  • Understanding of project budgeting, scheduling and the ability to communicate and work closely with clients to ensure project milestones are being met and deliverables are on-time and on-budget 

  • Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a “can do” attitude, but open to feedback and a strong desire to learn 

  • Excellent time management skills and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills 

  • Excellent decision-making skills and a highly resourceful problem solver
